The next morning, the auroral yellow orb put on its golden slippers and climbed over the horizon trading places with the white orb. The fleecy clouds were chasing one another as slowly as a tortoise in the prodigious sky. My alarm clock betrayed me as I forgot to wake me up from my deep slumber . I leaped out of the bed and got dressed as fast as I could. Since I had missed the bus and my dad had already left for his office, I had to walk to school. Unfortunately, I was unable to run as fast as lightning because my bag was as heavy as an anchor. I reached school late and as a punishment I had to run hundred rounds of my sports ground. After running so much, I walked back to my classroom and the teacher came down on me like a ton of bricks for failing the test. Finally the bell rung, all the children were as joyful as a pack of wild animals liberated from a cage. Everyone sprinted back home. I was on pins and needles to tell my mother about the test paper. While thinking about the test paper , I didn’t realize that I stepped on a dog’s tail. The dog howled stridently and exchanged infuriated looks with me. I dashed to my abode as fast as a deer. Not seeing where I was going , I fell into a gutter. My clothes were soaked with dirty brown water and I smelled of dog’s droppings.
I went home and resolved to face the music. After telling my mother everything, she crossed her arms and was exasperated at me with temper as hot as a furnace. My punishment was that I had to do all the chores and was prohibited watching the idiot box or painting th e town red with my comrades for one week. I climbed the stairs and walked into my room. On my bed , I saw a chit which read “ Bad luck will follow yoy forever, if you don’t get rid of this mirror soon. I warned you to never open the chest.” I immediately took the mirror from my closet and dropped it on the floor. It shattered into tiny pieces. I threw the mirror into the garbage bin and the next day went very well. I got a remark for the most well maintained notebook and passed my mathematics test with flying colours. I grabbed the spotlight and was showered with praises by my teachers and comrades. I was on cloud nine.
This horrible day will be etched in my mind as a scar for eternity.
