A Repulsive Burglary

By Bhuvashwa – Grade 5

As the blistering sun pranced around the pristine sky making the surroundings as scorching as a furnace, I stretched my indolent arms and yawned as loudly as a lion’s roar. I yawned again but this time  like a soft kitten’s  adorable yawn. I scratched my head like monkey wondering what day it was when in the blink of an eye, it struck me like lightning that it was Saturday.
On Saturdays, I am like a prisoner out of prison. I got ready in a flash and bolted like a deer to ask mother to give me  the green signal to play with my true blue companions. “ Yes !” was the answer from mother. I was over the moon and sprinted for the door to go out into the magnificent garden. We played a zealous game of hide and seek to our heart’s content. As the orange orb was setting, I was heading back to my resplendent abode with elated memories when I saw two burglars wearing inky costumes. They were breaking the lock of my comrade’s abode. I darted near the telephone booth to call the posse of police. At the drop of the hat, I heard a vociferous siren deafening to my ears. Innumerable cars had appeared . The posse of police had caught the burglars who had almost stolen the whole house. When I saw their faces, I was aghast to see that they were my Maths teachers. I was as enraged as a wasp to see  that their house had so much furniture which they had stolen from school too. The next day, the Principal suspended the Math teachers and reprimanded them. The Principal took all the glossy furniture and kept them where they belonged.
My parents were as proud as peacocks when they heard the remarks which were given by the Principal. I am grateful to God to give me an opportunity to do a favour for my best comrade.
