The Nightmare

by Meher – Grade 4

It was a humid Monday night. I was doing my monotonous homework as it slipped  my mind  to do it on Saturday. After dinner, I brushed my teeth which are as white as snow and was snug as a bug in a rug in my fleecy bed and shut my eyes at the drop of the hat. When I was fast asleep, I saw a nightmare about Earth breaking .
My beloved parents , my sister who is as ravishing as a princess and  I  were going to Lonavala which is a stone’s throw away drive from my residence. It was a balmy evening and all four of us had gone to City Mall to buy comfortable clothing and some lip smacking chocolates for my glamorous sister and me. When we were walking up the stairs, holding the bulky shopping bags, my mother who is the apple of my eye , glanced at her phone to check the weather forecast. The forecast was showing that the Equator which is an imaginary line is separating and the earth is going to break. I did not believe the forecast.
Out of the blue, we felt that everything was shaking. We all screamed on top of our lungs and sprinted as fast as lightning. The equator had really broken. Like a bolt from the blue, I capered like a kangaroo out of my bed and shouted stridently. I was relieved when it dawned upon me that it was a nightmare. Coincidentally, it was also raining cats and dogs outside, Thunder rumbled and the sky threw lightning around. The trees swayed to the tunes of the wind and I could not get sleep the whole night. I learnt a lesson from this dream that we should not cut trees and contribute to the growth of global warming or humans will not exist anymore.
