I didn’t believe in ghosts until yesterday. The gargantuan sky was overwhelmed with broiling golden rays of the scintillating yellow orb. The Earth bathed in a warm rosy glow and the euphonic chirps of the volery of birds reverberated everywhere like music to everyone’s ears.

My beloved comrades and I were frolicking in the lively and vibrant park. We were painting the town red when abruptly the sky turned atramentous with grey looming clouds. The wind howled insanely and the towering and sinewy trees swayed like a troupe of dexterous dancers. We all sprinted like lightning towards our abodes. On the way, came across the dilapidated mansion well known as the ‘Haunted House’ as umpteen residents would call it. I gave a pink slip to the wise man saying ‘ Curiosity Kills the Cat’ and ambled towards the house. As I stood at the entrance , flashes of fulgent lightning fractured the tenebrous sky incessantly which was followed by clamorous rolls of thunder. The rain, like asteroids of gravel pummelled on the ground. I resolved to go inside as I didn’t want to get soaked in the rain. Also, I strongly believed that ghosts didn’t exist. Creak ! I slowly pushed open the cumbrous door. It fel like some queer force was trying to close it. Finally, the door opened. I trudged into the crepuscule house.
I couldn’t see much but the wallpaper was scarping off and the furniture was covered in dust. The windows were broken and the house had a rusty smell which greeted my nose. I could hear rats squeaking. Soon my eyes got accustomed to the dark and it dawned upon me that the prodigious house was engulfed with portraits of people. It was eerie because they all were gawking at me. A shudder ran down my spine. Out of the blue, a colossal picture of a jovial lad moved and what appeared like a hand came out to reach me. I dashed from there but the door was locked. I tried kicking the door, ramming my shoulder against it and pulling the handle but infelicitously my efforts failed. My heart was beating rapidly against my frail chest like a time bomb. I didn’t realize that the lad was standing right behind me. When I turned , I discerned him grinning oddly at me. I broke into a cold sweat. I bellowed vociferously but nothing happened.
I desiderated that I would have gone home rather than coming to this gruesome place. At the moment i am still stuck here and i don’t know what will happen next but hopefully my friends and family will rescue me. Until then, I am stuck in this mansion.
